I have 4 month male chihuahua puppy . He is very playful and doing great except for one thing. I can not train him to pee/poo in the same place.
I been using pads , as well as giving him treats if he would go do his "thing" to the right place , but nothing seem to work. Not like it big problem , but i just don’t want it to turn into habit.
Any advise , maybe i could train him to go outside, or maybe there are special scent pads that attract puppies.
Please anyone who know , or think he/ she knows respond with advises.
Just to add My puppy had all his shots done yesterday .Continuously provide positive reinforcement to the pup, when she does go, immediately reward her with praise and a treat. Another option which works well is to start off with a large sized pad, maybe even putting two together, eventually as she learns to use the pad, reduce the size of the pad. Make sure the pad is by the door. By gradually reducing the size of the pad the puppy will realize there is no more pad to pee on and will go to the door when he needs to be let out! Good Luck and stay patient and consistent!you can get a a poo attracting smell to put on a mat. I had that problem with my pups. Finally we got into a routine of. wake up in the morning and carry him outside to do his business. Mine our now 1year old and still do the occasional poop inside. A matt is weally for wee’s not poo’s. Have patience he’s only a baby.yeah i used scent pads on my chihuahua until about 11 months. after that he got curious about our older dog going outside so we took him, he saw him pee and now he pees outside. He’s even started to raise his leg a bit! Him squating used to aim at his face at times but now it does’nt,even though he steps in it afterwards. lol
he’s 13 monthsyes there are puppy potty pads. After he goes on one don’t remove it. Leave the pad out for the next use because dogs tend to like marking the same spot over and over again. After a couple of time he’ll get the idea to go on that spot. Hi,
I’ve been into the same dilemma before and found some helpful tips on this site that I applied and I find it effective. You may also want to give it a try.

My dog is a bad boy and he sometimes bites. No worries though, it is just for games. He bites me in the butt, on the ankles and the feet of my brother.
