I’m located in Connecticut and looking to find a reputable breeder of Corgis, Preferably Pembroke-Welsh Corgis. I’ve tried using a number of websites but they all seem so confusing. It doesn’t seem like there are any breeders located within the state. Have only seen one dog located in a Pet Store in Wallingford, CTPlease don’t consider buying from a pet store or a Website like breeders.net, puppyfinder, nextdaypets… They are all fronts for puppy mills and a puppy from there will be unsocialized and poorly bred.
One of the largest and most respected Corgi Breed Clubs in right in your backyard. Mayflower Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club. Their site is very useful for more information about Corgis and local reputable breeders.
www.mayflowercorgiclub.org/Looks like there are several members of the Pem Corgi Club of America in CT.
Start looking here:
www.pembrokecorgi.org/memberlist….
Also, information on getting a Corgi, including what to expect from a breeder:
www.pembrokecorgi.org/buycorgi.ht…
Realize that NO dog you buy from a pet store is going to be healthy.sigh…one finds a REPUTABLE breeder of any breed by first contacting ones local(county) kennel club. They’ll will have show catalogs listing the breed’s exhibitors &/or will know who to ask.
Also,one checks w/the PARENT Club.
Ct.is so small that other states are w/in easy reach-if one isn’t a lazy lump.
One READS the BREED STANDARDS *FIRST* so one knows which breed(there are only 2 & they are completely different!) he/she is considering,so as not to appear a fool.
One does NOT sit on their fat donkey, surfing around on-line!
One will get screwed by a puppymilling crook that way.You want the easy way. You said REPUTABLE breeder.
Research the parent club on breeders of the PWC. Still too confusing? They you don’t really want a good PWC.
Research PWC rescue. You’ll find a ton of them looking to be re homed.I hear the Queen of England is reputable. Otherwise, I would start checking links through the parent club of the breed. In case you’d like to consider adoption, I found a list of shelters from this link, dogtime.com/shelters/US-CT
Try to have a look, good luck!
I wish I had a a pembroke welsh corgi.

How often do you have variation in colors when you pair two pure bred chocolate labs? Any references is greatly appreciated, thanks
