hi i have a little rottie girl and i really dont want her to become agressive when shes older.
i just want to know what methods i should stay away from and what makes them turn agressive
help please
How does a rottie turn aggressive?
Bad breeding.
Bad training.
Improper socialization.
Bad home life.
It’s best to consult a good trainer to help you with your dog. I can sit here and tell you that positive reinforcement is the only way, but if your dog is already testing the limits, then you could potentially have amonster on your hands in a year.
Get a good trainer and have them help you.
Avoid "fad" training methods like Cesar Millan, or any training style that involves alpha rolls, ‘pack leader’ (you are in charge, but not part of a pack!), or breaking the dog down.
GL with puppy! They don’t suddenly turn aggressive. It is a progression from puppyhood. Not enough training, an owner who can not or does not control the dog, a dog who spends its time outdoors, unsocialized dog, any of those could potentially develop behavioral issues.
If your dog is from a good breeder, and the dog’s parents were sane, well-tempermented animals, your dog already has a great start. Work on socialization and training from an early age and you should have no problems later on. Any dog will become aggressive if they are teased and taunted. A responsible owner will not have an aggressive canine unless it has been born this way but i still believe with kindness, training and understanding it can be eliminated and you should end up with a loving pet. Its up to you? (Children should be supervised around Rottweilers) until the true character of the dog comes out.you have to be careful that there is no history of aggression in the dogs family, as it can be passed down. however if there isn’t, there is no reason why a dog should turn nasty if they are treated right. it’s the owners that make them aggressive, so if you look after her right and make sure you socialise her well you shouldn’t have any problems!
but please make sure you don’t leave her alone with any small children, even the most well behaved and friendly dogs cannot be 100% trusted. im not just saying that because she is a rootie….its the same for all breads, even chiwahwahs etcAll dogs are inherently capable of aggression of one form or another as are we. There are very few of us who can say we’ve never fought or at least wanted to fight another human being. Dogs don’t turn aggressive, they’re allowed or taught to be aggressive. If you don’t want your dog to be aggressive, you correct her at the first sign of aggression. If she growls at somebody you correct her, if she barks at a dog, you correct her. You nip it in the bud before it becomes a serious issue. This type of training is called Deterrent Training because you’re deterring the dog from doing a certain action. Since this is training you’ll need the most basic of training tools. A leash and a prong/choke collar, I prefer prongs over choke collars because chokers can fully constrict if not used properly causing muscle damage to the neck whereas prongs do not fully constrict and require less force to get a dog to comply and mimic a dogs nature by acting as a biting mouth to correct the dog. If/when your dog shows the beginning signs of aggression, raised hackles, barking at strangers and strange dogs, growling at people/animals, you give a sharp correction and a "No" and keep walking. The dog won’t take long to realize that under your rules, aggression isn’t allowed, plain and simple. I hope I helped, feel free to e-mail me with any questions and good luck with your puppy!my rottie was never agressive i just treated him like any other dog i had
but how ever his brother was nasty pice of sh*t and was my friends dog and they came from the same litter and was the only one like that becasue my other friend and the sister and she was such a baby it wasn’t nothing she did he was like that from the time he was a pup i told her not to her get him she did any way and he bit her all the time just make sure she gets around kid and other people and all sized dog from the start and if she shows any sign of agression grab her by the scuff and say in a louder firm voice no and then make friends a min to two laterI think all dogs respond to their enviroments and up bringing just like children. If the dog is taught to be fearful of strangers and you it will always remain this way. I’ve had 2 rotties in my life. They both were kind as kind could be. 1 was protective over me and my family, but I did not take the proper steps to socialize him. No one he was not introduced to would get up our door steps.Exercise and training and plenty of it, this put you in pack leadership position, reduces stress and expels excess energy, which dogs use to be reactive rather than think.
Untrained, unsocialised and dogs who don’t get enough exercise are much more likely to be reactive. Take her to a GOOD training class which uses positive reinforcement – none of this "alpha roll" nonsense – as soon as possible. There she will learn how to interact with other people and dogs and you will learn the best ways to train her.

People cause rotties, or any dog for that matter, to become aggressive. All you need to do is socialize your puppy well with other dogs and people, and make sure it is well versed in basic obedience.the only thing i can think of is plenty of socializing any dog can turn aggressive without socializing whether it’s a chihuahua or a rottie.Meaghan is exactly right…
A well-bred, stable minded Rottweiler will not be aggressive as an adult, so long as it is socialized and trained. Same as any other breed.Things to work on:
Socialization (both people and dogs) constantly
Obedience
Proper exercise
DO NOT:
Chain her up outside
Leave her in a kennel or crate for lengthy periodshave u ever seen dogwisprer have a look at his website he says you have to become pack leader www.cesarmillaninc.com/index.php
check out cesar’s website and see it can help you okIt’s not so much aggressive as territorial. its usually the owner that causes it any sort of abuse.
yeah never stub out a cigarrette on their a*se…….this makes them go mental

With that time of year coming close I am getting a jump start so my friends and family know what to look for. I am mostly asking for pet supplies and items; there really isn’t much else I want. I am stuck right now after only a few things.
I have a beagle, a guinea pig, and two Bettas, so if you have any suggestions for me to add that would be awesome.
This is my list so far,
-One 25 or 50 watt heater for a fish tank
-Fake SILK plants
-A Pigloo for Brownie
-A new water bottle for Brownie
-A new collar for Judge
Thank you.
If the food we are feeding our dogs and cats is so healthy why do they always have worms? »
