Last night me and the kids were playing in the living with the dog, having a good ole time. Next thing i knew I accidentily stepped on my puppies leg. He’s a 15 week old boxer puppy. After i stepped on it he started yelping like crazy and sat on the floor and kept spinning in circles. I feel horrible! He likes to be right under neath our feet and i’ve stepped on his toes before but nothing major just a quick yelp and he’s fine. But this time i know i got him good. I don’t know if it’s broken or just sprained or what. We think the pain is somwhere down near the toes or back were the foot meets the leg. We’ve layed him down and inspected the area. We stretched his leg and ankles out and bended them. And he didn’t really yelp. Last night he feel asleep on the couch on his side and i noticed his leg was complete stretched out. So i know he can bend it and stretch it out but he won’t put any weight on it what so ever. He limps around everywhere. The thing is a week ago when he was at the vet for a check up the vet cuts his nails cause they were getting long and everytime he goes nuts yelping and biting like there hurting him but i know there not so i dont know what to do. Because everytime we try to touch it and see how he is he’ll yelping once or twice even though we hardly touched it. Like i said right after i stepped on him we were able to calm him down and get him relaxed and we moved his leg around and moved the joints. so i don’t know what to do. At one point last night we noticed he did kind of set his leg down while he was standing, i think cause his other leg was getting tired. He also will sit and lay on the leg and he doesn’t seem to be in pain at all. Just when he puts it down. So it seems there’s only pain when he puts weight on it. I’m not sure if he yelps when we try to massage his leg because he thinks were hurting him and its all in his head or what. Any suggestions and comments would be great! We feel so horrible for him and just want him to get better. Thanks
