I bought a bag of dog bones from the butcher, you know the ones I am talking about with bones and a little bit of meat on them from lambs and such.
I know that these bones are safe for older dogs, but are they safe for my Jack Russell pups?
They are 8 weeks and two 10 week olds. You should give him Roasted cow bones, not Dog Bones. Thats like cannabilism, for dogs, even if they just chew on em!
Only joking, Jack Russells have constitutions like Crocodiles. As long as the Bones are Cowbones, not Pork, or Chicken they will be fine. Make sure they have lots of marrow in them, thats the bit they like, and gnawing the bone away to get at it, keeps their teeth nice and healthy.
Big Roasted bones will last for weeks, with Puppies. The puppies will have a good time chewing on the meat, they can’t bite into the bone yet, so no harm, and lots of chewing which is good, and lots of fun for them. We have 5 Maltese puppies, who are still nursing at 5 wks, but we gave them a bone like that, they had a ball. Nothing wrong w/it at all.
Oh, and KarmicAn….dogs ARE cannibals, they eat their own everyday. They will also eat another’s babies if the mood strikes them. Have a friend who Aussie killed and ate her Yorkie, was chewing it like a ham bone when she got home.sigh, my dog ate a bone it was small and was mostly meat. It got stuck in its intestine and it died 4 days later. This happened a few weeks ago. Both my pets died this year. sad =[i don’t know about dog bones but i just think that that would be a risk.
Maybe soft bones will be kind of soft..that is way too young. give them a soft squeaky toy.I suggest u to give it dried pig’s ear instead of dog bones.

My 8 year old cairn terrier seems to be lacking energy for the past week or so. He is very picky in what he eats. I’m starting to think he may have worms, though I cannot tell by looking at his stool. Is there still a possibility he may still have worms?
Do worms cause lack of energy in dogs? Any other advice would be appreciated.
