« Why Wont Groomers Take In Chow Chows?

he will probably meet him tomorrow but i want to know if i should wait a little bit before introducingjust do it gradually. Lab’s are fairly calm friendly animals. If you treat your lab the same way even show extra attention and offer extra treats for a while it shouldnt feel threatened.
Keep an eye on them together at all times in the beginning. When your not home seperate them, but make sure the lab gets to be where he normally would be and the husky is put somewhere else.Putting the OMG 5 weeks old comments aside…
As long as your lab is vaccinated, you can introduce them now.
Before they physically meet, pat your lab, and then pat your your new pup and then your lab again, let them both sniff your hands so they can get used to each others smells mixed with yours. Then you can bring your pup out to say hello. Let your lab sniff his bum in greeting and go from there.
Good luck!!I think I would hold the new pup on my lap, and call your lab into the room where you are sitting. Be aware he may try to grab him from you, or whatever antics be ready. Just let him know it’s ok….and gradually, take your time, days even, you can put him down on the floor w/the lab. I think I might keep a leash on the Lab til you see how he is going to take it. When you are sure the Lab has accepted the baby, then you can relax a little, but always keep your eye on them. The baby doesn’t have the ability to defend himself against rough play or anything else, yet. But soon he will. Just watch them.
And when you feed. Feed them totally separate or the Lab will scarf up the baby’s food. Make sure the baby gets fed, don’t just assume because you put down 2 bowls the Lab didn’t get it all. That could be a problem. I would feed the baby in another room, where I could watch and be certain he is getting his food.5 weeks is too early to get a puppy…he should still be with his mom but since u already got him u wait a week or two to introduce him to ur lab, when u introduce them for the first time u should introduce them outside ur house…get them to know each other in a park first, because if u introduce them at ur house ur lab might get territorial and protective and might end up hating the lil pup and possibly think he is being replaced by the lil one, so u introduce them in a park first and then keep bringing them to park for 2weeks to get to know each other and to like each other and once u see they like each other then u can bring the pup home, in the park ur lab wont get territorial and will actually be able to play with the puppy but at home its totally different.Hi,
Before introducing your new puppy, take away all items your dog might feel protective of. Food dishes, favorite toys, even nests or bedding may cause your dog to react aggressively to the presence of another, even if he hasn’t shown these behaviors in the past. Clean up any untidiness or clutter, as the dogs may feel pushed together if their space is confined.

dogtime.com/bringing-home-a-secon…5 weeks old? You’re serious?
Please return him to either the pet store or the "breeder" you bought him from. He’s wayyyyyy to young to be taken from his mama and his litter at 5 weeks old.
Before you get a dog, any dog … please do some research. No pup should be taken from its litter before the age of 8 weeks … 9 weeks is better, and a few weeks longer doesn’t hurt.OMG………….5 weeks…… That is too young for you to have a new pup. Get that pup back to the momma so he can get proper nutrition from her, learn his social skills, and get the pack skills he needs.
I dont understand why people buy a pup younger than 8 weeks, or why the breeders sell them before so either. GEEZAt five weeks of age, your new puppy should still be with his littermates and dam and not exposed to new dogs. The earliest you should accept a new pup is eight weeks and preferably a bit longer than that.5 weeks? PLEASE take him back to where you got him. He is way too young to be take away from mom and littermates. You can take him home when he is 8 weeks.you should wait at least 3 more weeks.. because that’s how much longer the pup should be with its mom and litter mates. What in God’s name are you doing with a 5 week old puppy?
That is SO illegal not to mention unethical!
GIVE IT BACK!1-1 week that’s how long i had myn

I’m thinking about getting this puppy, scroll down to the white/tan female Cockapoo. I know I should get one from the shelter, but she’s so cute. I’ve never had a cockapoo before, could someone give me some info on this breed? Oh btw she’s $650.
