i saw a cute yorkie at a dog place and i wanted to take it home but the maltese is so white and cute and can get dirty easily. i am only ten. help!!!!!!!!!!!They are both cute I personally have a yorkie and like it better but that is a matter of opinion. Both require alot of maintance on hair and need lots of attention. Good luck I think both are nice little dogs. A Yorkie tends to be really high strung and a Maltese is more relaxed. Both will require grooming and extra patience in potty training, so keep that in mind.
Good luck.Yorkies tend to pee a lot when they get excited but if that doesn’t bother you, they are really cute and rather small. Maltese puppies are super sweet and their hair would be the only additional maintenance.

should i be worried!
she ate 3 normal reeses cups
a small lollipop
and a mini mr goodbarDon’t be worried, that’s a very tiny amount of milk chocolate, she’ll be fine in that regard.
However, if she ate the wrappers, she might possibly become obstructed, although chances are she’ll just pass them. If she ate the lollipop’s stick, though, I’d be a little nervous.
Here’s an article that gives a quick rundown on intestinal blockages, so you know what they are and what to look for:
www.dog-health-and-supply.com/Dog…
For future reference, here’s an interactive chart that shows exactly how much of any chocolate can harm your dog:
ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2007/1…
According to that chart, a 25-pound dog would need to eat about 3.5 ounces of milk chocolate to get a tummy ache and the runs. Your dog would need to eat about 17 ounces to potentially die.
One mini Mr Goodbar is .3 ounces and a Reeses Cup is about .8 ounces (mostly peanut butter, not chocolate).
Your dog would need to eat at least eleven mini Mr Goodbars just to get an upset stomach.
Hopefully your dog will be perfectly fine, but keep a better eye on that Halloween candy, huh?
Niether the reeses or the Mr Goodbar contain all that much chocolate and the toxic level for mix chocolate is 1 oz per lb of body weight so your dog didn’t get enougth to harm her. That much sugar may cause a bit of stomach upset though, but she should be fine. In the future keep candy out of doggie reach. Wow, does anyone here have any sense when it comes to this?
Okay, let me put it to you this way…of course your dog shouldn’t be eating any chocolate or any sugar because its not part of their normal diet.
But let me tell you this, it takes 1oz/pound to even effect your dog. So, if your dog ate 25oz of chocolate, then yeah I would be worried.
If you go to the vet, all they are going to do is tell you to watch your dog for any signs of lethargy, vomiting Dia…anything NOT NORMAL.
I treated a dog once that ate an entire home made chocolate cake, including the frosting and was fine.
Its not good for their heart, so with that’s said…be careful.
Do NOT give your dog any human over the counter vomiting medications…If you are truly concerned, give your dog water…LOTS and just kennel him/her for the next couple hours for observation…
just keep an eye on her for the next day. my dog once ate half a bag of hershey kisses with the foil wrapper on them and did not get sick. I saw a website that listed the amount of chocolate a dog has to eat in order to get sick, it was alot more than i expected. It broke it down by the dogs weight and ounces of chocolate. Cant think of the name but you can google it.LOL. Quick, hide the halloween candy! You don’t need to worry, unless your dog starts getting lethargic, panting hard, drooling excessively, or other strange symptoms. She might have diarrhea, and she might throw up, but she should be just fine.Just keep an eye out for urgent potty needs. That amount of chocolate shouldn’t have any toxic effect on your dog. If the dog ate the lolly pop stick you should get it to a vet asap though. Put the rest of the goodies out of reach please.i think she’ll be ok, just keep an eye out for tummy trouble, she may vomit or have diarrhea for a day or so but if it continues take her to the vet as she ate some chocolate and sometimes it can be very very dangerous to dogsDogs are not supposed to have chocolate,,,,and all that sugar isn’t good either. Just monitor the dog….it may have diarrhea or some vomiting, but if things get bad, take the dog to the Vet.Hm, well they aren’t too bad, but keep an eye out. she might still get some problems, but try to keep the lolly pops and reeses away in future. dogs enjoy sweet things but i can be bad for themNo need to worry——just DO NOT ALLOW her to get into to anymore of the chocolate.I would be worried if I were you. Might want to take her to the vet. Halloween candy I’m guessing? Why was it left out?that is ridiculous and the dog could get ill from that human chocolate is poison to dogs so try not allow itSure not yet.. but that kind of sugar is not good for a dog. …did she eat the wrappers? :s If so get her to a vet.wow thats kool but dogs usually die from chocolate so u shud go to a vet

well i have 4 dogs and i fed them store brand food there nose wasn’t very wet just a little wet and i switched to feed them Purina little bites and they love it and now all of their noses are like very wet but not dripping wet my vet says it mean my dog is very healthy so i just wanted to know if this is true?yeah, your vet’s right, that is the way you tell if a dog is healthy or not. If the dog’s nose isn’t cold or wet, then there is more than likely something wrongits good that your dog’s nose is wet. if your dog;d nose dryprobly means its hard for them to breah. dont worry you can trust your vet!=]Sounds like your dogs are doing great. Completely normal. You should be concerned if the dogs nose is dry and warm.yeah, when the dogs nose is dry…thats when you worry.

They are Westie lovers, and I would like to get a New Home card with a Westie theme. Anyone know any good UK websites to purchase this type of card? There seems to be plenty birthday cards but not ‘new home’ or ‘new house’. Have you tried moonpig. They have a really cute westie on there.
www.moonpig.com/CardSection/TheDo…
www.moonpig.com/You could scan a picture of a westie onto your pc and make your own card which would be more personal than a shop bought one and it would save you the effort of traipsing around the shops. You can easily make your own with photoshop or a similar program. Why not make one of your own. Check Cafe Press. Just do a search for "westie" and see what comes up.
www.cafepress.com/Sounds like a do it yourself project! I make greeting cards as a second job…and can do this for you

My dogs are doing well on Canidae ALS but I have been researching grain-free dog foods, and since mine are coonhounds – they might do better on a grain-free diet. The best seems to be either Orijen or Evo but they are 42% protein compared to Before Grain’s 32% – the Canidae ALS is 26%. Grain-free feeders – which one do you use and why? I have an english pointer and a catahoula leopard dog and we feed them nutrisource. The protein levels are at 22% and my dogs poop less, eat less, great coats, less smelly farts, and they love the bigger pieces, etc. Personally if your dogs are doing well on these foods and you are not having any issues- stay on it. We have tried science diet, natural balance, eukanuba, and diamond naturals
I looked at grain free food and orijen and evo have a lot of protein…too much for mine anyway. remember if your dogs don’t need that much protein then it gets expelled which means you’re paying for all this protein your dogs aren’t using- their body only absorbs what they need
Does a high protein percentage (as shown on the package) mean that a pet food is automatically better than others with lower percentages?
No, a higher percentage of protein doesn’t mean that a pet food is automatically better than others with a lower percentage. Similarly, a lower protein percentage isn’t automatically bad, provided that the protein included in the food comes from a good source (such as real chicken or real lamb meat). Don’t rely solely on the percentage of crude protein shown in the guaranteed analysis on the package. While it is tempting to assume that a high percentage of protein means that a food contains a lot of beneficial protein (and is therefore better than comparable foods), this is not always the case. Always evaluate the source of the protein – not just the amount – when considering/comparing

No dog food is completely grain free despite what the label may say. A certain amount of grains are required for processing. There are however low grain foods. Evo and Orijen are excellent.
I feed my border collies Orijen, I trust the company as they are from Alberta, Canada, and use products from with in the US and Canada. No out sourcing or iffy product sources. That is the main reason. The ingrediants are excellnt, if I could design a dog food it would be Orijen. The high and quality protein content, no yucky chemicals or coloring. It is as natural as a bag kibble can be.
Keep in mind that not all dogs do well on a super high protein diet. My Aussie throws up costantly and has liquid stool on Orijen even when switched over very slowly. (So he is on Chicken Soup For the Dog Lovers Soul.) Orijen and Evo and the like are very rich foods and companion animals have been on high grain foods for so long that their stomachs can not always handle it. Switch VERY slowly.
Blue Buffalo’s Wilderness line (sold at petsmart) and Wellness’s CORE line are also excellent high protein foods to concider. It may take some trying to find the right on for your dog.Solid Golds Barking at the Moon is a great grainless kibble. Timberwolf Organics also has a couple of grainless varieties. I have all of these and my dogs did well. However the price and the higher protien percentages were not sitting well with me so I now feed Eagle Pack Holistic varieties. The dogs are doing well with the barley and rice.Depending on age it is better to use a grain food.
When a dog is a puppy is good to have it on grain food. This make it easier for the puppy to gain weight, not only that but that is where dogs get there energy , like how our bodies use proteins for energy.
If your dogs are past puppy point, I would say that it would be ok.I feel Wellness.. Why spend the extra money on grain free if your dog isn’t having a problem? It’s a money grab.. You don’t want a cheap food that is full of grain, but you don’t need an exorbitantly expensive food just to get rid of grain unless there is a problem.
Right now Chili is getting Orijen, because the Evo made her itchy and the store we go to doesn’t carry Raw Instinct any more.

My pup is 9 weeks old male cocker spaniel.
His coat is brown and white.
Does this name suit him or it seems to be very unlike his description?
