I am trying to find out where I can find a leash like vets and the dog whisperer use. Just the cheap, simple leash that forms a loop on one end that you can just dangle in front of the dog and the swoop onto their head. I can’t seem to find any place that sells them. First person to give me some good info will get best answer with full points. Thanks! They are called kennel leads. Most pet supply catalogs sell them. Go to Petedge.com and search for “kennel lead”. Here’s a web site that sells them, but you should also be able to buy one at any pet specialty store in your area.
dogtrainingdrsfostersmith.com/product/pr…You can get these from dog grooming places. They use them on the grooming tables. They are called slip leads.Well you can make them if you wanted. just make a loop at one end and then put the end of the string through the loop. They are called a british lead and my dog club sells them. They are also called kennel leads. Look at petedge.com and they sell them. Or call 800-738-3343 for a magazine.
i got mine from the vet. oops.try looking on petedge.com and look in the grooming section
check out this page they have very reasonable products at affordable prices .. and they will send you a free catalog dogtrainingpetedge.com/home.jsp

our dog now is a low energy dog so should we get one that alittle more active or stay with another low active hes a small Chihuahua/Schipperke mix hes about 13 pounds and would want to stay around the same size and breeds you can recommend alsoif you want your dog to be more active get a more active dog this will bring your dogs activity level up!
i just got another pit bull and he has livened up the place quite a bit and keeps the other one going before she used to just sit around now she is all over the place with him..be prepared for the “fight” between the dogs for your affection & attention!I would stick with another dog of similar size and energy level, it’s just easier that way for both dogs. If you’re looking for a calmer, lower-energy dog, I would avoid any dog in the terrier, herding, or working group (to see what breeds are in those groups, visit the American Kennel Club website).

which is friendlier around kids,is there a difference,is one more active then the other?Color means nothing, but sometimes nature vs nuture rules in this case. Typically the pugs are very friendly dogs, but if they come from an abusive enviorment, the true nature of his disposition is likely to change.
I can tell you that I have a “fawn” or tan colored pug, and his shedding hair matches my furniture better! lol (yes a little humor here.)
Best of luckThe only difference is coat color; if you want a dog that is friendly with kids either get one from a shelter that has temperament-tested the dog with children, or raise one from puppyhood around children, making sure that the children know how to properly act around the dog and ensuring all meetings between the puppy and kids are positive. The coat color makes no difference in the dog’s personality. That is something that simply depends on the dog. And to whoever said something about going to a pet store, you shouldn’t buy dogs (and cats) from pet stores. Always adopt, there are lots of dogs (and most likely pugs) that are in shelters and such that need good homes. There is no significant difference like friendliness between pugs. It took my family a long time to decide between a black coat pug and a fawn (tan) pug, but eventually we went with the fawn. I just think it’s more distinctive, and everyone thinks he’s cute!
Well theres different kinds of dogs mean, friendly, loveble and theres alot more emotions. go to your local pet store and see them disid on one as a familyI’m not sure if color matters here. If the black pug seems nicer than a tan pug (or vise versa) it should just be whats insideIt’s just a color and color has no bearing on health, temperament or compatibility. i dont think so
but i think the black ones are the cutest!Color means nothing., but personally i think the black one is cuter.
xDColor means nothing get the one with the best personality that suits you

I’m just wondering what kind of dog you have, and its name. If your dog has any talents please list them, the one with the longest response will be the best answer. My dog is Baby, the sweetest little six and a half pound Maltese you could ever meet. She stretches and does ballet lifts with her legs. She talks when she wants to go outside, when she wants to eat, when she wants to play. She sleeps with me and we have a routine every night. We play and visit after she’s gone potty, then I read to her. She sleeps next to me at first then moves down by my legs. When I move she moves so she can stay right next to me.
She puts her paw on me to make sure I’m there. I hold her paw when she sleeps, but she won’t let me hold a paw when she’s awake unless I hold both front paws.
She eats a special diet and drinks distilled water. Gets flea meds and all her shots as needed. I am the only one who can trim her nails and fur. Her fur is soft, white and fluffy. She is brushed every day, has a basket with silk scarves inside and decorated with hanging beadwork on the outside. When I snap my fingers she jumps in and takes a nap.
Baby has cubic zirconia necklaces and custom made collars.
She has clothes that have fluffy ruffles and jackets to keep her warm when it is cold. When in the car she backs into her place and is gung ho ready to go. She has her travel bags with all the pockets, blanket, necessary bowls, food, snacks, and water.
There’s more but I have to go take care of Baby.
I should have my daughter tell you about her pomeranian…lolHello, I just got a Miniature Poodle named Sassy. She is 6 years old and we rescued her from a puppy mill where she was used as a breeding dog. This week is her 3rd week with us and tomorrow we are doing the right thing and having her spayed. She has many talents the coolest is that you can hold up a treat to her and tell her to sniff and she will and wont take the treat until you tell her to. She also does this little dance thing when she is begging for treats. We also tell her to stay back from the street if she goes out to the mailbox with us and she will stay put and we can even walk past her and back to the house ans she will not move until you tell her to. She is so aimed to please and its like she is afraid to disappoint us because of the life she has had. At least now she never has to worry about being abused( she does show signs of that too) or being left or tossed from home to home because she is in her forever home. I have been also working with her on new tricks ans she is learning to shake and roll over, while i know these are average tricks she learns new things very easily and i’m looking to teach her how to do the training courses and obstacle courses too.I have a Jack Russel Terrier and he races in flyball, he has a Ch in flyball and we have a lot of fun when we travel to the tournaments. His name is Max and it took me two years to train him because he would go over the jumps to the box and around the jumps coming back, he always had the ball but just missed the jumps the second time. But one day I released him and wow he went over and back over the jumps, it was great! I was in a car crash that almost killed me and had to have a lot of surgeries and 77 days in three hospitals and I had picture of Max in my room. When I finally got to come home he will lay in the bed with me and just give me comfort.I always have a better frame of mind after I take a nap with him and he helps me when I’m depressed. I love him very much and how he makes me feel stronger is the best trick he can do.:)I have a white Lhasa Apso girl puppy named Sophia. We call her Sophie tho.
She hasn’t really shown any talents, but she’s absolutely adorable.
I also have a tan Chihuahua boy named Tino.
So far, he’s shown a talent for jumping, doing anything for food, and reaching amazing speeds. He can jump to 3 times his height. Cool huh? And he will do ANYTHING for food. With those tiny little short, 3 inch legs, he can reach about 10 mph. If humans had his skills…then things would be easier xDphoenix….cockerspainel/sheepdog… talent doing somersaults in my lap. and herding me to bed.
mindymoocow…pitbull…talent she says” i wanna go to”.
gunnermack..pitbull…talent…stealin… the covers, pushing me off the couch, sitting handsome when he get’s into trouble(get’s me everytime), he can say mom, no mom, and she’s mine.I have two Jack Russell mix puppies, Teton (female) and Tahoe (male). We found them at a foreclosed house, abandoned at about 6 weeks of age. We brought them home, cleaned them up and took them to the vet the next day. They went from being so scared to the most perfect dogs ever in just a very short time. They are now almost 6 months old and are so different. Mister Tahoe is very energetic, extremely enthusiastic with learning his tricks & performing them, and always good for some excitement (yet still well behaved). He’s my little wild, mischievous man. Miss Teton is a lot more laid back. She likes to nap, have her belly rubbed and occasionally give Tahoe a run for his money. She is the dominant dog, even though everyone thinks otherwise. They are obedience trained and, of course, house broken. They sit by the door when they have to go potty. They can each do a few tricks so far (working on more) like shaking hands, giving me a high-five, begging, etc. Tahoe learns VERY quickly and Teton just doesn’t care as much about impressing anyone, though she can do them when she wants to. (Remember, they’re mostly Jack Russell’s. haha). I think they’re the greatest dogs ever because they’re mine. Here’s a pic:

I have a dog, he’s a Pomeranian his name is Chester. He’s about 16 weeks old. Hmm his talents, are learning things really fast, looking super adorable all the time, run super fast. Chihuahua/Schipperke mix his name is Baxter hes good at whinning he also can sit and laydown he knows how to make us feel bad about leaving him for a momentI have two dogs:
Winter Sprite- My white Siberian Husky. I’ve had her since she was a pup. She’s an exception to the husky rule! She’s very laid back and is off the leash trained. Something numerous other husky owners told me was near impossible due to the independence of the breed. She’s a very intelligent girl and “volunteers” at the nursing home! She preforms various tricks. She “sings”, shakes left and right paw, sits pretty, high fives, and dances! i18.photobucket.com/albums/b133/S…
Bomber- I adopted Bomber last February from the local pound. Bomber is a true “Ham” He’s very energetic and loves to “bounce” like a kangaroo! He’ll jump on or over anything! When I come home from work her bounces around the room like Tigger! He’s a big love-bug and always has a doggie smile on his face! He also likes to strap on his backpack and go iking in the suburban jungle! i18.photobucket.com/albums/b133/S…

I have tried frontline for my dogs and don`t seem to get good results.I`m not sure I`m putting it on good enough. It says between the shoulder blades.Wouldn`t it be better putting on the belly, where there isn`t a lot of fur.Or should I shave the area first.I don`t think i`m getting it down on the skin good enough. Is it ok to use after a bath?Better to use a couple of days after a bath, part the hair to get to the skin. I’ve been using Comfortis, it’s a chewable tablet you give your dogs once a month and it kills fleas for a month. I haven’t seen a flea in almost two months and I live in Al and fleas are bad here for a long time.Try it and you and your dog will be very happy
You put it between the shoulder blades, because the dog cannot lick it off there. It’s toxic stuff.
At least, that’s what our vet says.
You’ll want to make sure the hair is parted very well. You need to be able to see the skin, a good portion of it, before you apply. If you want to shave a bit first, it’s perfectly fine; if you feel it is necessary.
